As much as it pains me to listen to Beyoncés music AT ALL!!! Because it was all over the media. I had to see what the fuss was about. Even the Jolene cover. NO JUST NO!! The only cover of Jolene that was acceptable was by a punk band called Me First & The Gimme Gimmes. Just when country music was getting back to its core with real songwriting and soul with artists like Zack Bryan and Jelly Roll. Here’s comes Beyonce grabbing the cash cow on a trend that she knows she’ll get because of name recognition casting out real song writers of that genre who deserve more credit. Admittedly, I am not an avid fan of country music, but I know real song writings when I hear them. This record was just a cookie cutter. Nothing more. This is why I stick with metal. I’ll give something an honest shot no matter what the genre. Just be prepared for some blunt honesty and constructive criticism.
